I'm very pleased to announce the launch of my Grailsrocks commercial support plans, as well as the release of a new Rocks plugin for Grails. Here's the deal. I'm offering cost-effective paid support plans that cover most of the Grails plugins I develop.
You get a number of incidents per month, a monthly Skype video/IM call allowance and exclusive merchandise.

The new Rocks plugin is useful for all developers - with it you can review your installed plugins, get instant access to source, docs and issue trackers, research all plugins in the public portal, and see upgrades available. For paid support customers you can raise and view your support tickets directly from inside your app in development mode. More features will be coming to this plugin in future.
I have also now migrated all of the supported plugins to Github. Fork and be merry.
This is somewhat of an experiment. It's well known that its almost impossible to get money out of developers. I mean, why else would anybody use Eclipse?
However I really believe this is a critical need to create a first class ecosystem for any framework.
I just happen to believe Grails is one of the best out there, and I have a very significant personal investment in it. Most frameworks let you achieve the same kind of thing. What will differentiate the best is the quality of their ecosystem.
I want to make high quality docs for all my plugins present and future. I want to get much better test coverage on them all. I have some great new features I want to implement that I think you'll love. I also want to help people make the most of the code I labour over. Dog fooding is not enough.
I want to do some great new things too, many already well under way including the Grails Plugin Platform. I have plans to make it possible to take Grails community development to an entirely new level. Its exciting stuff, but it all requires time.
So let's see how this works out...
